Tips For How to Make Your Roller Banner Unmissable

Roller banners are certainly one of our most popular products in the range. Practical, cost-effective, easy to transport and so simple to set up. With so many qualities, how can you not love this versatile piece of kit?

Before you invest in pull up banners as a marketing tool to promote your business, check out the shortlist of top tips we gathered to ensure that you get the best from them.

Make your Roller Banner SHOUT
Don’t be afraid to be bold and make a strong statement. Use bright and vibrant colours – after all, it’s all about getting noticed. If you’re using photos, check the quality of your images – the resolution should be at least 300dpi to avoid looking pixelated.

Top tip: Roller banners have a longer life span than most promotional materials; they can be used over and over again – especially when ordered from Melon Press. Our roller banners material is anti-glare, anti-scratch and anti-tear, giving them great durability. With this in mind, your design should not include information or images that ‘date’ the graphic. For example your product prices may go up or down, so avoid this if possible. Keep the messaging on brand and generic if you can for maximum longevity.

Consider design placement
The top third of the roller banner is the most visible area (that’s the bit that shouts!), and by default, the most important. Select what you place in this area carefully. It could be your logo – if you are running a brand awareness activity; or a bullet point messages that summarise your objectives, service proposition or perhaps USP. Either way, ensure this is a conscious decision, as it will be the most viewed by prospects/customers.

Top tip: The bottom part of the roller banner graphic is rolled into the mechanism (aka roller banner stand), so ensure you don’t place anything relevant in this part of your design. Use our free Melon-Press template to help you with this.

Less is more
Be mindful of how much text you add in your design – although some roller banners offer you plenty of space, you must resist the temptation to include lots and lots of copy. This can make the graphic look too ‘busy’ and will be less inviting than a well-spaced and concise message
Remember: you may have seconds to get your message across, so it should be snappy and easy to understand.
Use your roller banners to attract attention and instigate curiosity; add info that could be a conversation opener, especially if you are using them at a trade show or at exhibitions/events/conferences.

Top tip: Proof read, proof read again, and proof read one more time – Make certain that there are no spelling or grammatical mistakes, they may count negatively towards the perception of your company.

Own it, brand it
It goes without saying that your logo and contact details should be clearly visible – always include a website, phone number and even social media icons or profiles.

Top tip: Quick response (QR) codes allow customers with smartphones to quickly visit your website, without the need of typing the URL address – they could be a very intelligent and innovative addition to your design.

Size matters
Consider where you will display your roller banner and how much space you have available; this will help you select the most appropriate size.
